Mary O' Sullivan is a world traveler from Cork, and has returned home to teach yoga. She is a qualified teacher of Ashtanga Yoga, having taken her training under the guidance of Chaitanya Nitai Das from the Peruvian Yoga Inbound School in Cusco, Peru. After completing her training, she spent the next few months teaching yoga in a little surf town called Huanchaco, in Peru. She plans to continue her yogic studies at the Bihar Yoga School in India in the summer of 2011. She will be able to deepen her practice and develop her understanding of the eight limbs of yoga.
Through her practice of Asthanga Yoga, Mary has never felt stronger in her body or more focused in her life. The reason she came to yoga was through an injury. Her physiotherapist suggested yoga as a way to help the body heal. Her initial desire to heal herself lead her to discover solace in yoga.
Mary teaches a style of Asthanga Vinyasa Flow yoga that incorporates all the principles of Asthanga. Her classes utilize asana from both the primary and intermediate series. She focuses on the breath as the basis of the practice, keeping it as fluid as possible. Mary helps her students to build strength, flexibility and mental focus. Her classes are safe and suitable for all levels of experience.
Outside of practicing yoga, Mary can be found surfing in west Cork, reading a good book, or attending a workshop to continue the yogic studies she began in Peru.
